More than 80 firms have expressed interest in working with the 23-year-old javelin thrower from Panipat, Haryana, who has become the new poster boy of Indian athletics.
The partnership, however, will not be cheap, since Neeraj’s brand worth has skyrocketed by an incredible 1000 percent.
According to Mensxp, Neeraj used to charge between 15-20 lakhs for every commercial before the Tokyo Olympics. Things have altered substantially since then, with Neeraj now likely to cost ten times as much as he did previously.
Neeraj has joined the ranks of the country’s top athletes in terms of endorsement fees as a result of his remarkable accomplishment. In reality, Neeraj is likely to charge roughly Rs 2.5 crore for every sponsorship, making him the country’s second-highest-paid athlete, trailing only Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, who earns between Rs 1-5 crore per sponsorship.
“Although we have had inquiries from around 80 brands, Neeraj only has a restricted amount of free days throughout training sessions in India and abroad over the next 12-14 months, so we must be careful in who we bring on.” These are multi-year contracts that will run-up to the Paris Olympics, Mustafa Ghouse, CEO of JSW Sports told Economic Times.
