Aaron Finch & David Warner Or KL Rahul & Shikhar Dhawan: Which Is The Best Opening Duo? 1

Both Aron Finch and David Warner are the batsmen who can give a very hard time to even the best of the best bowlers. In fact, that is what they did during the ODIs against India. Unlike Warner who performed extremely well for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, Finch did not have a great time opening the batting for Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, he played some extremely good innings for Australia in the ODIs as well as the T20s.

Warner and Finch started their ODI series by scoring a 156 run partnership with Finch scoring a century. The second ODI was no different as they made an opening partnership of 142 runs. Warner was out for the third match as he was injured, but Finch still scored 75 from 82 balls in the 3rd ODI. Indian duo on the other hand did not have a good time during the series.

In the first ODI, batting was opened by Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan. Agarwal tried to go after Australian bowlers but ended up giving his wicket. Dhawan scored 74 in 86 balls which stabilized Indian batting but it wasn’t enough to chase a huge total of 375. Rahul-Dhawan was India’s opening duo during the T20s. Rahul scored a crucial 50 in the first match and Dhawan ended up getting bowled for 1 run. In the 2nd T20, Rahul and Shikhar made a partnership of 56 runs and in the 3rd T20, Rahul went for a duck. Between the Australian duo and India’s newly formed opening duo, currently, the Australian Warner-Finch duo rules.
