Kolkata Knight Riders as a team has been shining brightly under the maginificent performances of star bowler Varun Chakravarthy.
Varun Chakravarthy the leg spin bowler has been a trump card for Captain Eoin Morgan, and the champ bowler has delivered when it mattered.
But do you know that Varun Chakravarthy aspired to become a fast bowler and that he is a graduate in architecture?
Well, you can read his story here.
Varun has been playing cricket from the age of 13. He was a wicket keeper-batsman initially. However, when he did not get selected at his age-group level games, he stopped his cricket craze and pursued his degree in architecture at the SRM University in Chennai. After finishing the course, he started working as a freelance architect. However, his love for seam bowling rekindled his love for cricket.
But a knee injury hampered his chances of developing himself into a seam bowler. Instead, he opted to try spin. He worked on himself and trained into a spinner.
His journey with Tamil Nadu Premiere League in the Year 2019 gave him all the limelight. This gave him few net practice sessions with the Chennai Super Kings team in the year 2018. Later, he was called by Dinesh Karthik to the KKR net to bowl.
And from that time to this time, when he is holding the KKR flag high as their first-rated spin bowler has indeed been a success story for Varun Chakravarthy.
We will surely see more of this guy in the future!!
