Professional footballer Luka Modric, a La Liga side Real Madrid midfielder, captains Croatia’s national team. He primarily performs as a center midfielder but can also play as an attacking or defensive midfielder. He is largely recognized as the best Croatian footballer and one of the finest midfielders of all time.

In March 2006, Modri made his Croatian debut for the national team against Argentina. He then scored his first international goal against Italy in a friendly. Modric has served as the leader of Croatia’s “second Golden Generation,” representing his country in every major competition for which it has qualified, including the FIFA World Cup in 2006, 2014, 2018, and 2022 as well as the UEFA European Championship in 2008, 2012, and 2020.

Luka Modric and his family picture appearance

With his palm raised and a broad grin, Luka Modric displays his World Cup-winning pose. In one photo, he is seen sporting a Croatia team jersey, while in another, he is shown smiling broadly while holding Ivano, Ema, and Sofia, his children. Finally, he is shown in the third image giving a flying kiss with both hands.

Luka Modric’s career appearance

His professional career got a shaky start thanks to loan stints at Inter Zaprei and Zrinjski Mostar. Modric’s first long-term agreement, which lasted through 2015, was with Dinamo in 2005. He earned a spot in Dinamo’s first squad by scoring seven goals in 31 games to help the team win the league.

The Prva HNL Player of the Year title was given to Modric for his comparable performance during the 2006–07 league season, which helped Dinamo win the championship.

He was only the second Croatian to be chosen for the Team of the Tournament at Euro 2008. Following group-stage exits in his first two World Cups, Modri led Croatia to the 2018 World Cup Final and was given the Golden Ball award for the finest player of the competition.

He eventually went on to amass the most caps for the nation ever in March 2021. In addition, he received the honor ten times between 2007 and 2021, a record.
