Last year in season 2020, when KKR decided to have a change in captain mid season and the captaincy transferred from Dinesh Karthik to Eoin Morgan, many eyebrows were raised as to whether that was a decision under pressure or voluntary. Nonetheless, KKR fans were super happy seeing a world cup winning captain like Eoin Morgan leading their side. But sadly enough, it hasn’t done them much good till now.
Although KKR started their campaign in 2021 with a big win over SRH, their dismal performances in the last three games didn’t help them in the points table and the middle order batting has been a reason to worry. Add to that, ‘Captain Morgan’ hasn’t fired with the bat yet and he has been made to look like a rookie in front of fast bowlers on wickets that help the seamers.
A lot of critics debate that Morgan’s form is hurting KKR’s 4th overseas spot and it should be given to someone who can perform whereas the other side feels he will do well in the remaining tournament. Which side are you in folks?
