For some unknown reasons or unknown fitness issues regarding Rohit Sharma, he was kept at home and wasn’t a part of the first and the second test match against Australia. After sitting on the bench for few matches during the IPL, the Mumbai Indians captain returned in the playing eleven during the final match. Later after winning the 5th IPL trophy, Rohit was seen practising in the nets. Given that the team management stated some fitness issues for Rohit Sharma, watching him play in the nets seemed undigestible for his fans.
However, after BCCI stated that Rohit will join team India in Australia before the third test match, his fans and followers were extremely happy and excited to see him in action once again. After Virat Kohli went on leave, having someone as good as Rohit Sharma in the team is a very huge advantage for Team India.
Even though Rohit doesn’t have a good overseas stats in test cricket, his skills as an opener can be very crucial to fill the void left by out-of-form Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal. Rohit has played a total of 32 matches for Team India in test cricket international. He has an average of 46.5 which may not seem good enough but it sure is something positive. Apart from that, he also has scored 6 test centuries on an international level.
