Before India, vs Australia test series could begin, Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team and Steve Smith, the current best batsman in the Australian line-up had a Q&A session. They both asked questions to each other and some of their answers are very interesting to hear.
Steve asked Virat about the moment where Virat realised that he needs to make a solid career in international cricket. Virat took a minute to think about that moment and soon replied that his journey towards becoming a strong international cricketer began a long time ago. However, winning his first Man of the Match was the moment where he truly recognised his skills and started believing in himself. After Sehwag injured himself during practice, Virat was called to open for India. He played decently well for 5 games but then he was given rest again as the full-strength team was back. He received another opportunity in 2009 champions trophy where he played against Pakistan and got out for 16 runs. Virat thought this was the end for him.
Two days later he opened for India again playing against West Indies. He said he was dejected after the last match against Pakistan but this was his second chance to prove himself. He was all fired up but Kemar Roach bowled the very first delivery at 150+ kmph. Virat even got hit on his shoulder by a bouncer but he survived and kept scoring runs. He received the Man of the Match award in this match and he said to himself that if he can handle an inning like this, he can surely do it continuously in future.
