Over the years, we have seen many pairs of brothers in the field of cricket. To name some, the Marsh brothers, the Hussey brothers, the Morkel brothers, the McCullum brothers, and also the Pathan brothers can make the list. Even though both brothers are retired today, the Pathan brothers were once very destructive and the duo helped India win a lot of matches. The left-arm pacer namely Irfan Pathan was exceptional, especially with the new ball. He played 29 test matches, 120 ODI matches, and 24 T20 matches for India and also became the second Indian to take a hat-trick in Test cricket. His brother Yousuf Pathan was more of a striker for India. He was sent to make the ball disappear and get a defendable score on the board. He played 57 ODI matches and 22 T20 matches for India.

Their place is today taken by the Pandya brothers. Given how much the game of cricket has evolved over the years, the new generation keeps getting better and better at this game. The Pandya brothers are an example of this fact. Hardik Pandya, the younger brother especially has performed exceptionally in international as well as in domestic cricket. The right-arm seamer and right-hand batsman has played 11 test matches, 57 ODI matches, and 42 T20 matches and is still counting. In almost all the matches, he has played a significant role to finish the innings in fours and sixes. Not to mention, he is also known for his fantastic fielding and ability to make impossible catches. Krunal Pandya, on the other hand, has been great in domestic cricket and was an important part of Mumbai’s 5th IPL win. His unique left-arm bowling action is something to watch for.

To compare, the Pandya brothers definitely dominate in all aspects. They are more dependable and have performed exceptionally in recent years. The Pathan brothers are good as well, but not as good as the Pandya duo. Hence, it is safe to say that the Pandya brothers deserve the title of ‘Brothers of Destruction’.
