Virat Kohli is a name that is used to define a few styles of batting. Today when a cricket coach is explaining a point about batting to his students, Virat Kohli’s name is sure to appear or to be used as a reference as there is nothing that Virat hasn’t achieved while batting for India all these years. It is a moment of pride for us Indians as Virat wins this award but we must not be surprised that it is Virat who won this award because no other player can come close to be compared with him.

He is the ultimate beast or as his nickname suggests, he is a ‘Run Machine’. Once he gets set, he makes sure that he lasts as long as he can while scoring quick runs at the same time. Kohli made his international cricket debut in the ODI format in 2008 against Sri Lanka. Today he has played 251 ODI matches for India on an international level with an average of 59.3 runs and has a total runs of 12040 runs in ODI cricket. In T20s he has played 85 matches in total with an average of 50.5 runs and the highest score of 94* runs. He is yet to score a century in the T20 format and it is hard to believe especially when he has 27 test hundreds and 43 ODI centuries.

Virat’s early journey in cricket was full of hardships and difficulties. He faced all the life challenges with his determination and today became the world’s best batsman. For this, he received the ICC Player of the Decade award. He also won the award for ICC Male ODI cricketer of the decade.
