Has M. Siraj Delivered On His Debut Test: Have A Look

From bowling tennis balls in local tournaments to earn a place in the Indian Cricket Team as a supporting bowler, Siraj made history with his performance at his debut in the International test match against Australia. After Mohammad Shami injured himself while batting against a forceful beamer, Mohammad Siraj was called in to replace him in the second test match. Just like many good bowlers that India has seen over the years, Siraj also has the ability to swing the ball in both directions and he can do it with accuracy as well.

On his debut in the test match, Siraj bowled a total of 15 overs in the first innings and took two crucial wickets. He helped in dismissing Marnus Labuchagne who was looking very dangerous almost neared a half-century; and also got rid of Cameron Green who performed well in the first test match.

He was even more successful in the second innings as he took 3 more wickets to his credit. He broke a crucial partnership between Cameron Green and Pat Cummins helping India get an advantage in their second innings. His other two wickets were Nathan Lyon and Travis Head. His economy in the second half was even better as he bowled 21 overs with an economy of just 1.70. Overall, Mohammad Siraj’s inclusion in the test team was a good decision for team India and he seems to be looking to play a more crucial role for India in the coming years.
