Cricket is more of a religion than a sport in India. The gentleman’s game allows players not only to earn money but also, to become a global icon as well. Fans start to take notice of his every action, every move, both on and off the field. And we’re not talking about just the cricket fans, but female fans as well, who adore Indian cricketers a lot. Here are a few cricketers who got married to their fans.
MS Dhoni: The Captain Cool is extremely shy and he is known to maintain distance from the limelight. But that is not so easy, particularly if you are the captain of Team India. There are few people who know that MS Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Dhoni was a fan of him. Dhoni incidentally met her at Taj Bengal in 2007, when he was on Tour with Team India. MS Dhoni married Sakshi on 4th July 2010 in Dehradun.
Rohit Sharma: The opening batsman of them India also known as Hitman married Ritika Sajdeh who was his manager and a fan as well. Rohit Sharma eventually fell in love with this beautiful woman and they got close. The couple tied the knot on 13th December 2015.
Mansoor Ali Khan: Sharmila Tagore was a big fan of Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and used to go to the stadium to watch matches. After some meetings between the two, they fell in love and got married in 1969. She was an ardent fan of the then Indian cricket team captain, and it is also said that Sharmila used to go stadiums to get a glimpse of the young captain.
