If there’s one franchise in IPL cricket who know how to invest in the youth and get the best out of them by grooming them under the leadership of able seniors, it is the Kolkata Knight Riders and it’s team management owned by the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. One such youngster whom the KKR franchise backed in the beginning of his career is the supremely talented Shubman Gill, who’s also considered to be the ‘hero’ of the Under-19 World Cup which India won a few years back.
So what do you need to know about Shubman at the moment? Shubman Gill is from Punjab who earned his first IPL opportunity for KKR. In his debut season, he was being sent down the order and was given the role of a finisher but soon, ex-captain of KKR, Gautam Gambhir decided to send him up in the batting order to open the innings with Sunil Narine and the rest is history.
Today, Shubman has etched his name and has cemented his place as the first opening choice batsman for KKR and given the talent this youngster has, we feel that his best is yet to come.
