The COVID situation has changed all the scenarios of the cricket community right from the social contact to amendments in the rule book. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has affirmed break changes to its playing guidelines, which remember the boycott for the utilization of salivation to sparkle the ball and permitting home umpires in the worldwide arrangement according to delivery by the global body. The ICC Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC) endorsed suggestions from Anil Kumble’s Cricket Committee, guided toward moderating the dangers presented by the COVID-19 infection, and ensured the wellbeing of players and match authorities when cricket resumed.
When it comes to teams, the teams will be allowed to exchange players if they show signs of symptoms of the virus, the match referee will arrange the nearest player having the same likes of the player. But keeping in mind that this rule may not be applicable for ODIs and T20s, the ICC committee stated.
“The use of saliva to condition the ball is ruled out of the rule book, no player is allowed to use saliva to condition the ball if so, the umpire will decide the same, there is also a penalty of 5 runs if a player attempts the second time.
For the umpiring, only the home team umpires are allowed to spectate, no international umpires allowed for the same. ICC will appoint all the possible local umpires near the area.”
