Harbhajan is the only son of Sardar Sardev Singh Plaha and mother Avtar Kaur. Harbhajan Singh grew up with five sisters, and theirs is a big family. Though he was to inherit and take care of his family business, Harbhajan Singh was given the consent by his father to represent India in cricket.
Harbhajan married his longtime girlfriend Geeta Basra in the year 2015. The two have a daughter by name Hinaya Heer Plaha who was born in the year 2016, in Hampshire.
