Virat Kohli and Steve Smith are very fierce rivals on the field but off the ground, they are very close friends. They are often seen sharing a laugh during IPL or even during international matches. Their friendship even grew stronger when Virat stood up for Steve Smith and asked the crowd to cheer for him.
They both came together once again for a Q&A session with each before the India vs Australia test series. They read premade questions for each other and some of their answers will surely put a smile on your face.
One of the questions that were read for Steve by Virat was asking him about his ICC video where they talked about their favourite players. Virat asked Steve whether he remembers that video and why did he choose Phil Simmons as his favourite player.
Steve’s answer is what makes the interview funny. Steve Smith revealed that he was joking about his favourite player being Phil Simmons and he just went with it. He also revealed that his favourite players were actually Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting. Steve and Virat both shared a good laugh over this answer. He liked watching them play and that’s why they were his real favourite players. He also said, “I don’t know why I said it. I think I was having a joke with someone.” they moved on to the next question after this.
