THROWBACK: Know The Best Moments Between PV Sindhu & C. Marin During World Super Series Finals

Most of the people might not know this, but Sindhu and Marin are fierce rivals on the court but very close friends when they are off the court. Sindhu first faced Marin for the first time at the BWF World Junior Championship 2010 which was held in Mexico. Later they met several times in different competitions to meet each other at a very crucial stage of their lives; they were both fighting for Olympic Gold medal in solo badminton. Being the then World Number One, Marin overwhelmed Sindhu After losing first set with 19-21. She won the remaining two sets with a lead of 12-21 and 15-21 which showed how further ahead she was from Sindhu.

Sindhu received yet another chance to defeat her in the same year in the Dubai World Super Series 2016 where they met in the finals. Here. Marin went home winless after losing to Sindhu with a lag of 21-17 and 21-13. It was a great moment for all Indians not because she exacted her revenge from the Olympics, but because Sindhu proved that she is as good as the World Number one badminton player. Since then, Sindhu has been unstoppable and is still moving forward every day in her career of Badminton. Recently in 2019, PV Sindhu beat Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara, who is world number 4 currently and won the gold medal in BWF World Badminton Championship.
