Chennai Super Kings have been one of IPL’s most consistent and impactful teams having won the title thrice and made it to the playoffs every season until 2020. Dhoni and his yellow brigade failed to qualify for the playoffs and had a disappointing reason. One big reason behind that was the presence of an experienced fast bowler who can give the opening batsmen a bit of hiccups with their brisk pace at the early stages of the powerplay. That’s where Australia’s Josh Hazlewood came into play this season after they bought him at the auction.
However, owing to bio-bubble fatigue, Josh decided to opt out of this season’s IPL thereby leaving CSK in a spot of bother once again in the pace department. That’s why they brought in Australian fast bowler Jason Behrendorff as a replacement for Hazlewood today.
But hey, will Behrendorff have the same impact as Hazlewood who has the knack of troubling batsmen with extra bounce or will his absence hurt CSK once again? Share your views below.
