Yuvraj Singh Or Rohit Sharma: Who Is The Sixer King Of India?

Between Rohit and Yuvraj, who can be named as India's Sixer King?

Yuvraj Singh Or Rohit Sharma: Who Is The Sixer King Of India?

Named as ICC’s Cricketer of the Year for 2019, Rohit Sharma has certainly made his name in the world of cricket. He is well-known to have scored 264 runs against Bangladesh, which is the highest individual score in ODI. Also, he has inspired many young players to play his signature short ball pulls, and send the ball into the stands. This is the reason why bowlers fear bowling a short ball to Rohit Sharma. Being the captain of the IPL team Mumbai Indians and serving as Vice Captain for the Indian cricket team, Rohit has hit as many as 423 sixes across all formats at an international scale. He is one of the most successful openers of all time.

His comparison is the mighty Yuvraj Singh who needs no praise and is all about hitting big boundaries. He registered a fixed name for himself in the world when he hit six 6s in an over to the England Bowler, Stuart Broad. At the end of his career, Yuvraj had hit 22 sixes in test cricket, 155 sixes in ODI format, and 74 in T20 internationals. This brings him to a total of 251 sixes across all formats.

Rohit still has so many opportunities to add more sixes to his name and surpass his own records. However, even if Rohit beats Yuvraj in hitting a greater number of sixes, one thing Rohit will face extreme trouble in achieving is to hit six 6s in an over. What Yuvraj did is termed impossible in the world of cricket since only a handful have ever managed to do it, and this is in consideration of the fact that anything is possible in the game of cricket. Hence, Yuvraj will always remain the Sixer King of India.
