Why solo productions are flourishing in Indian theatre
Although solo productions have always been a part of the Indian theatre, they are only now becoming a preferred form of theatre for up and coming theatre artists. If some accounts are to be believed, solo performances find their roots in the tribal act of narrating stories to communicate an incident or a message. A solo performance essentially features only one actor who is telling the story. The length and duration of the solo performances can vary from less than an hour up to three hours and the audience is focused entirely on them since there are no other actors on the stage.
