Anubhav Sinha thanks censor board on ‘no cuts’ for Thappad
The Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) is in an exceptionally liberal mood. They have cleared Anubhav Sinha’s stark and real film on domestic violence Thappad with a ‘U’ certificate. This is even more liberal than what the CBFC did to Anubhav Sinha’s previous film Article 15 which was given a ‘UA’ certificate. Says Anubhav, “I’ve never had any problem with the censor board. Farhan Akhtar cries foul of censorship
The CBFC, or Central Board Of Film Certification, is known to be extremely intolerant when it comes to handling the Indian audience in a mature way. That's why probably what is normal for the western audience is apparently not normal for Indian audiences.
