The Monkey Man, To Be Banned In India?
It looks like the Indian release of Dev Patel’s savage brutal and ferocious The Monkey Man may not happen any time in the near future, or in fact may not happen at all. The Central Board Of Film Certification has taken serious note of the film’s “political overtones”. These compounded by the references to Hindu mythological figures plus recurring images of the saffron colour on hoardings and banners within the film’s ferocious frames(which, apparently, the makers are now trying to recolour into red) have out a serious question mark on the release of The Monkey Man in India. | Click Here...

Review Of The Green Knight: Dev Patel As King Arthur’s Nephew Is A Joke
The Green Knight Starring Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, and Ralph Ineson Written & Directed by David Lowery Rating: * ½ “Why the Green Knight, why not blue or red or black?” someone asks about the adversary that our hero must confront. I have a much more important question: why Dev Patel, for Chrissake? Does he look like King Arthur’s nephew ? If the 14th century medieval king were alive he would laugh the loudest and probably sue the makers of this dumb period drama trying hard to pass | Click Here...

Review of The Personal History Of David Copperfield: Stylish, Slyly Witty
The Personal History Of David Copperfield Starring Dev Patel, Aneurin Barnard, Peter Capaldi, Morfydd Clark, Daisy May Cooper, Rosalind Eleazar, Hugh Laurie, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Gwendoline Christie and Paul Whitehouse. Directed by Armando Iannucci Rating: **(2 stars) Don’t get me wrong. I love the idea of colour blindness that has swept across American cinema. I had to completely change my appearance for Hotel Mumbai: Dev Patel
As Dev Patel chased down the character of Arjun a turbaned Sikh working under Chef Hemant Oberoi in Anthony Maras’ upcoming film Hotel Mumbai, he knew it was uphill task preparing for the part that’s so far removed from his real self. Patel was born and raised in England by Gujarati Indian Hindu parents but he had great compassion for the Sikh community who bore the brunt of the 9/11 attacks. The actor understood the hate came from the lack of representation of Sikh characters in international films that triggered him to reason with his director why Arjun should be a Sikh in the film. | Click Here...
