Guilty and its interpretation of the patriarchal adage, "She Asked For It" reminded me of Jonathan Kaplan's Accused. Was that in any way a reference point for you? Guilty was very much a film I wanted to make as I had reached a breaking point in my personal experience with misogyny and patriarchy. I had already won a Filmfare and other awards for Hazaaron Khwahishein and had made another film that was appreciated, and showed clearly I had a command on the craft.
