Star Plus mytho show, Karn Sangani, starring Tejasswi Prakash and Aashim Gulati, has opened to lacklustre ratings. This story about Karn’s fictitious wife is not based on the original Mahabharata, but on Kavita Kane's novel, Karna's Wife. Tejasswi, last seen in Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya, says, “The makers (Shashi Sumeet Mittal) are fully cognizant of the current situation and are in the process of changing the whole story.” When asked whether it could be that the audience did not warm up to changes in the original Mahabharat, she just quipped, “I don’t know.” | Click Here...
Review of Star Plus’ Karn Sangini: An engaging love story with a nice blend of mythology and fiction
Although we have seen several versions of the greatest Indian epic, Mahabharat, all have their source materials taken from the verses of Ved Vyas. Hence, new STAR Plus show, Karn Sangini, based on Kavita Kane’s novel, Karna’s Wife: The Outcast’s Queen, comes across as a whiff of fresh air. It views the Mahabharat from the lens of Karn’s (Aashim Gulati) wife, Urvi (Tejasswi Prakash), who interestingly finds no mention in the original story.
