Legendary actor Sidney Poitier who Sidney Poitier who managed to carve out his niche through racial barriers by becoming the first Black winner of the Best Actor Oscar for his role in Lilies of the Field has passed away. He has inspired an entire generation with his great work during the civil rights movement. He was 94 when he breathed his last.
