Review of ‘Civil War’: A gut-punching, eerily real take on a phenomena that isn’t too far from being a reality soon
Rating - **** (4/5) I took a while to fully process, analyse and gather my thoughts after watching the Alex Garland directed, Civil War. And even then, I am unable to get over it. Seldom do we come across cinematic experiences that startle you to insurmountable limits, in ways you don't anticipate. A punch in your gut, psychologically sickening, and just diabolical in every sense possible. The enemy here isn't a 'foreign force' - but it's you. America isn't fighting a World War but they are instead fighting a Civil War - a war amongst themselves that leads to mindles | Click Here...
Review Of Gray Man: Is A Huge Fun Fare
Gray Man (Netflix) Starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Regé-Jean Page, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Dhanush, Alfre Woodard, and Billy Bob Thornton Directed by the Russo Brothers Rating: *** When it comes to unapologetic fun the Russo Brothers are next to none. Having experienced their voracious appetite for adventure in the past, The Gray Man comes as no surprise. The bigger-the-better philosophy of flamboyant filmmaking is very much operational here as Ryan Gosling takes on Chris Evans in a game of cat-and-mous | Click Here...
Review Of Marighella: So Brutal, So Disturbingly Entertaining
Marighella(Portuguese, Netflix) Starring Seu Jorge ,Adriana Esteves, Bruno Gagliasso and Humberto Carrão Directed by Wagner Moura Rating: *** ½ I will be honest. I was stunned by the torture scenes in this epic film. The closest parallel I can think of is Vetrimaaran’s vicious Tamil masterpiece Visaranai where men are tortured to near-death in police interrogation for petty crimes, or a confession of them , the truth be damned. In Marighella( if you play around with the title it sounds aptly like ‘mar-gela’ in Hindi) the cause is muc | Click Here...

Review of Wasp Network: Crams Too Much In Its Playing-time
Wasp Network (Netflix) Starring Penélope Cruz,Édgar Ramírez, Gael García Bernal,Ana de Armas,Wagner Moura Directed by Olivier Assayas Rating: ** ½ A political thriller that constantly moves between Fidel Castro’s Cuba and Bill Clinton’s America creating a simmering discontent between the content and the audience. Wasp Network outwardly gives off the rugged musk of a political saga well told. But then time begins to run out on the goings-on and the actors all in a hurry to find a home(even in jail) as they rush us through a spell of inclement weather, the | Click Here...
Review of Netflix film Sergio: Hurt Locker Meets Dr Zhivago
Sergio (Netflix) Starring Wagner Moura, Ana de Armas Directed by Greg Barker Rating: ** ½ This is a film with the body of Kathryn Bigelow and the spirit of David Lean. On the surface, it is a true-life political drama about the last three months in the lives of the legendary Brazilian UN diplomat Sergio d’Mello. The entire film unfolds as he lies buried in rubble of rebel insurgency. But dig deeper and it is a story of forbidden love during impossibly violent times in Iran when Americans were trying to establish their supremacy in the war-t | Click Here...
Narcos Season 3 on Netflix: To watch or not to watch?
Would you watch Game of Thrones without Daenerys Targaryen? Or Breaking Bad without Walter White? Or House of Cards without Frank Underwood? The answer would be a certain no as some characters of television shows emerge so relatable that it becomes difficult for the audiences to show faith to a revised avatar. Yes, let's address the elephant in the room, Netflix's Narcos, the irreplaceable moustache twirling element Pablo Escobar. Deftly enacted by Brazilian actor Wagner Moura, Escobar’s display is a concoction of emotions replete with anger, pathos, sensibilities and murderous ins | Click Here...
