For its cost-effective fitness tracker, the Fitbit Charge 5, Fitbit is releasing a new software update. With the latest version, users of the fitness tracker can quickly locate their linked phones thanks to a new “Find Phone” feature.

The firmware update (v1.171.50) for Charge 5 customers has reportedly begun to spread extensively, according to 9to5Google. The article states that the update adds the “Find Phone” feature, despite Fitbit not having released a comprehensive changelog. You can find your lost phone with only a tap thanks to the function, which was previously exclusive to some high-end Fitbit smartwatches. Swiping down from the clock face reveals it between Screen Wake and Water Lock, and it just offers you one “Find Phone” option.

Your connected smartphone will play a loud tone when you press the button, and the fitness tracker will switch the “Find Phone” button for a “Cancel” button. You may hit the button to pause the tone after you’ve located your phone. While Fitbit hasn’t specifically stated what is needed for this functionality to function as intended on the Fitbit Sense, the prerequisites are as follows:

1. The phone you wish to locate must be “paired” with your watch.

2. Bluetooth must be enabled on your phone and your Fitbit device must be within 30 feet (10 meters) of your phone.

3. Your phone must have the Fitbit app open in the background.

4. You must have your phone on.
