Actors do not get such cameos usually: Kritika Sharma on her role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Kritika Sharma who plays a con girl in Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is happy that she bagged such an unconventional cameo.

Actress Kritika Sharma who has played a very unconventional yet important cameo in Star Plus and Director’s Kut Productions’ popular and long-running show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is happy to have portrayed such a character.

As we know, Kritika played the con girl who pretended to be in love with Shubham (Gaurav Wadhwa). Her ulterior motive was to loot the family of their wealth on the day of her wedding with Shubham and flee away.

Kritika expressed happiness about playing the ‘Looteri Dulhann’ with style!!

The actress said, “This was a very different role and I had never done such a role before. So I learned a lot while carrying out the character. The show is such a big platform for any actor coming in, so it was fun being part of Yeh Rishta. The main challenge was to play positive (in front of family) and negative (as it was revealed to the viewers) at the same time.”

“You do not find such cameos in the industry. It was unique in itself. I am glad that Rajan Sir chose me for this role, and believed that I can do justice,” she added.

Talking about the warm ambience on the set, Kritika stated, “Everyone on the set was so comfortable to work with. This is such a well-established show, but the warmth I received from everyone when I entered gave me the motivation to do well.”

Adding on to the learning got from this experience, she averred, “This was not a mainstream stereotypical role. So I got to learn the nuances needed to play negative. I enjoyed the experience. This role and show has made me confident of pulling off both positive and negative roles with elan.”

Kritika’s character in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai wll wrap up soon with the revelation of Suhana. “I have been shooting non-stop for this role. Hence I will look for a short break. I have no plans as of now.”
