Aladdin is my favourite fantasy tale and I am glad to be part of the show: Shweta Khanduri

Shweta Khanduri who essays the role of the evil sorceress in SAB TV’s Aladdin – Naam Toh Sunha Hoga talks about her role.

Actor Shweta Khanduri is entertaining audiences in the role of the evil sorceress, Aleeza in SAB TV’s popular show, Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga (Peninsula Pictures).

‘Jaan Banke Jaan Leti Hai’ – her taqiya kalaam aptly signifies her mesmerizing beauty!!

Says Shweta, “This role is quite challenging as I have never done anything negative. As an actor, there is always the urge to take up something different. And to top it all, Aladdin was my favourite fantasy tale during my childhood. When I heard the story narration for the role, it definitely took me a day or two to ponder over it and arrive at a decision. I decided to try it as the role is challenging.”

“She is evil, but very beautiful. She’s a sorceress. Whoever sees her will get mesmerized. She has her own charm and knows how to get her things done. She uses her beauty, her magic to mess others’ lives. When you are performing a role which is very opposite to your self, you need to put in a lot of effort. The emotions and even the expressions are over the top when compared to a softer and positive character. She has various plans to tackle her enemy.”

“She has teamed up with Zafar (Aamir Dalvi) and there are quite a lot of mind games involved between them. While Zafar thinks that he is using Aleeza for his own advantage, Aleeza has her own independent plans intact with which she is playing on,” she adds.

Wish you best of luck, Shweta!!
