Actress Pallavi Rao is pretty excited about her upcoming role in Star Plus’ musical saga, Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala (Gul Khan and Nilanjana Purkyasstha) wherein she plays a role that seems to be the epitome of madness and cruelty!!
Pallavi who plays the role of little Kullfi’s mami (aunt) in the show feels that this has to be the best work of her career so far. “This character is very hyper, and needs so much of energy. I played a similar character long time back in Shaka Laka Boom Boom, and to now get back to the same levels of energy is something very satisfying as an actor. My character is very greedy for money and cruel too. I need to be very loud and hyper in my dialogues, and must say that my entire body speaks when I get high on temper (smiles).”
The actress sees this as a good variation after playing a Gujarati character in Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi and a hearing-impaired character in Dhhai Kilo Prem. “I have never been so aggressive for a character. Also, being a very alert mother in real life, it pains when I get so wild on the little girl Aakriti Sharma who plays Kullfi.”
Adding on to the sweet chemistry that she shares with the girl, Pallavi states, “After every scene where I torture Kullfi, I go back to Aakriti, sit with her, say sorry and also cajole her. She’s such a professional that she is fine with all the harsh dialogues I belt out on screen. She’s a real sweetheart. However, being the person I am, I feel very bad to torture the kid on screen. But yes, everyone in the team has made sure that the little girl is comfortable on sets. It is important to build good chemistry with your co-actors; it gives good results on the screen.”
Wish you all the best for your new one, Pallavi!!
