Rashami Desai is quite happy with her ongoing Colors show, Dil Se Dil Tak. “It is a good journey, with its fair share of ups and downs; the broad story does change over time. Now, with IPL on, the ratings are going down a bit. And we are responding with certain gimmicks in the track. I am really blessed to get to work with 2 great co-stars i.e. Jasmin Bhasin and Rohan Gandotra.”
Rashami, who has been around for 10 years in the industry, starting with Ravan and Pari Hoon Main, says, “I am totally focused on work, which alone gives me satisfaction. To be honest, when I first came, I never thought that I would reach so far. Having said that, I still have miles to go. I am not even half way to where I want to be. We should always strive to move from good, better to best. The most important thing is to keep calm and patient.”
Coming to Uttaran, which was one of her best shows till date, she says, “I am really proud to be part of a show which made small-screen history on the lines of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kasautii Zindagii Kay.”
After playing a negative in the above show, were you not afraid of getting typecast? “I am so glad that my romantic track in my current show has been so widely accepted. The entire process was quite natural.”
Among the industry wallahs, Rashami regards Ankita Lokhande, Mahii Vij and Arjun Bijlani as her close friends. “My friends are like my secret box. Although we might not meet or talk regularly, I know they are just a phone call away. I can just crash in on their pad at midnight.”
“For me, friendship is just not chit chat or laughs, it goes way much thicker. Most of my friends, knowing me very well, will not ask me what the deal is when I am down, but just try to pep me up.”
“The mantra of friendship also differs from person to person. There are some who become friends for benefits, not everyone is like that though.”
Well said, Rashami.
