I am anxious about the future- Shafaq Naaz 1

Shafaq Naaz is again getting a lot of love for her Star Plus Mahabharat rerun. “My Twitter and Instagram feed is full of congratulatory messages; I try to reply as far as possible. I am very grateful to producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary for giving me a chance to essay Kunti. It is not easy for a six years old show to come back in such a big way. Mythologies have always been a rage on Indian TV, but now post lockdown will become even bigger. I guess apart from the visual delight, today people connect with the characters and concepts as well,” says Shafaq to IWMBuzz.

But most mythos are shot outside Mumbai, “Yes even I was in Umargoan ( Mahabharat ) for a long time. There was nothing much to do after the shoot. Luckily now I have heard that Umargoan too has developed.”

Shifting gears to the lockdown Shafaq says, “I have never spent so much time at home before. Cleanings and scrubbing like others. I will say my OCD is a blessing, keeping me even more busy as I can’t stand dust.”

Turning serious Shafaq adds, “There is zero govt support for our industry only provides entertainment and nothing else. I am anxious about the future; we actors don’t even have the liberty of working from home. Shoots need to resume as soon as possible. How long will landlords defer our rents? The only solution is quarantining skeleton cast and crew at select locations for full series. I am getting a few work calls but unsure if they mean business or just trying to pass time.”
