Tell us something about the show?
For the first time we are bringing a show on Garud. We all have very little idea about the character and historic significance of Garud. So, this is a unique and differentiated offering for us as actors, as well as for the audience. With a fine blend of mythology, Garud is beautifully interspersed with drama and action, a complete family show. Dharam Yoddha Garud will be about unraveling a lot of untold aspects and incidents, coupled with action, drama which our audiences will love. The brilliant work done by the team on the VFX will add to a complete visual extravaganza.
How is your experience shooting for your first mythological show?
For me, this is the first time that I am doing a mythological show and before this, I have never attempted a show of this kind. As it is a negative character, it has a lot of scope for me as an artist to expand my horizon and tap into something I’ve never done before.
You are playing mother to Angad Hasija at such a young age, any comments?
The makers had told me that I am playing a mother to 1000 naags. I would like to say that in mytho shows there is no age to define a character. I am playing the role of a 1000 years old maharani. Also, I feel when I have so much to perform via a role then why should I be bothered about age. I have worked hard for this role and I am enjoying it thoroughly. So I knew anyone can come on board to play the role of a naag. But when I got to know that Angad will be playing my son in the show, I was happy. I couldn’t control my laughter. I met him on the set and we got talking. As long as my character is so strong, I don’t mind playing anyone’s mother.
How difficult is it to shoot in heavy costume and jewellery?
When I saw the costume, I was surprised. I knew it would be very difficult to wear and shoot for 12-13 hours. However, when I wore it for the first time, I automatically felt like a queen. I think the jewellery accentuates my look and gives the character grace.
Any message for your fans?
You guys have always loved me. I am exploring something very different this time. The show promises to be grand in every aspect and will keep you glued to your television screens. I would request the viewers to pour in all their love for Dharam Yoddha Garud.
