The versatile actor got in a candid chat with IWMBuzz.com wherein he spoke about his new project, challenges and more. Read on:
Tell us something about your character in the show?
I’m playing the character of Ved Kothari. He is the youngest child of the family. He doesn’t have a clear direction of what he wants to do in life but has been fortunate enough to get everything very easily. He is playful and happy-go-lucky in nature. He tries to pursue different careers. He sometimes wants to be a dancer, sometimes he feels he is a good singer, at times he tries a hand at cooking and sometimes imagines himself to be a boxer. People will like his character as he is very lively and has a good heart.
How excited are you for Aye Mere Humsafar?
It’s a big opportunity for me. I have been fortunate and I’m grateful to bag back to back shows. Aye Mere Humsafar is a new show so it has a different level of excitement. I am personally looking forward to playing the character of Ved and continue to entertain the audience. Every show has taught me new things and I am looking for the same learning experience from this show too.
What made you say yes to the show?
The character of Ved is very lively and gives me a lot of room to experiment. I am not restricted to a certain framework and the character in the show develops over time. I relate to the character of Ved as I see a younger version of myself in him. I am very close to and fond of the Shashi Sumeet Productions and was elated to receive the opportunity. Dangal, the channel also picked my name. The cherry on the cake is I get to work with Neelu Ji once again and this time our relationship is of a mother and son.
What will be the USP of the show?
The writers are the USP of the show. They have a very calm and mature style of writing. Also, our characters are very special and are a distinctive personality in themselves.
How has been your experience while working with the co-actors?
Till now it has been a good experience and I am sure it will be the same going ahead too. All artists respect each other and are very hard working. I am treated as though I am a senior actor. I am humbled by everyone’s gestures and share mutual feelings.
How did you spend your time during lockdown?
The lockdown period was very nice as I spent a lot of time with my mom and dad. I never got to spend so much time with them earlier. So, it was good spending more time with my family. It wasn’t boring or stressful rather I enjoyed spending time at home. I explored myself. The lockdown also allowed me to discover the writer in me. I wrote and sang a rap song.
What was the thing that you missed the most during lockdown?
I am foody so I missed going to the restaurants the most. I also missed meeting my friends, going to the theatre and the gym.
Any final message for your lovely fans?
I would like to thank all my fans and well-wishers that whatever I am today is because of them. It is because of their unconditional love, support and blessings that I have not got a chance to sit at home (that’s an actor’s dream). I’d request them to continue showering their affection in the same way and I promise to try and keep them entertained.
