Sanjay Gagnani, who is currently enthralling audience as the main antagonist Prithvi in Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya, says he is in the best phase of his life.
“I am going through the best phase of my life personally as well as professionally. Personally because a month back, I got engaged to the love of my life, Poonam Preet and professionally because my show is continuously topping the TRP chart. I have been receiving selfless love from the fans constantly,” shares the actor.
He continues, “I started my career with Balaji, so I always wanted to get back with the production house with a meaty role. I think the wait was worth it. I am thankful to Ekta mam for believing in me and giving me a strong character in her number one show. I am also grateful to all the fans for loving Sanjay and hating Prithvi. It is a strong character and has his individuality.”
When asked does he fear getting stereotyped, he quips, “I never had any second thoughts. I was impressed with the brief of the character. As an actor, I am okay playing, both, negative and positive roles but they should be worth it. Now the trend has changed, popular leads are playing negative, and the ones accepting grey shaded characters are becoming positive. I think it’s the performance that matters the most. I was excited to play the role as it was really complex and challenging.”
Talking about what Kundali Bhagya means to him, he avers, “The show is a gift and blessing from the almighty. As an actor, I have been in the industry for a long time now and I think my due is finally being paid off really well. I didn’t give up and constantly worked hard to achieve something like this in my career.”
Sanjay believes in being professional on sets. “In my last show, I used to have a lot of fun on set but on this show I am very professional. I have realized that these fun moments sometimes shift your focus. Here, my director is my best friend as I spend a lot of time along with him on set. I share an amazing bond with all my co-actors but we all work hard to make our product better for our loving audience.”
Well said, Sanjay!
