With the Star Bharat show Saam Daam Dand Bhed on its final leg, talented actor Aishwarya Khare who played one of the negative characters in it, is now looking for out and out vampish roles, albeit in a western avatar.
“Here, Bulbul Namdhari had some positive shades as well, plus was quite Indian in her outlook, given the small-town Hindi belt backdrop,” she says.
Going on, she adds, “I really enjoyed my journey, getting to learn so much. It was interesting playing various sub characters and shades. The best part of our Shakuntalam Telefilms effort was the amount of creative discussion before shoot. Every angle was dissected threadbare, thereby allowing us to get into the skin of our respective characters.”
Any regrets on the show going off air? “Obviously, for the team had become a family. But with lead actor, Bhanu Uday, wanting to quit, things had come to a point of no return. He eventually agreed to stay on for a bit longer, when it was decided to pull the plug on the show. Our shoot finally wrapped up yesterday with an emotional goodbye thingy.”
Talking about the end track, she says, “I will not let the cat out of the bag. Suffice to say, we have wrapped up all loose ends. Given the above development, the show could have only gone on with an altogether new story.”
“All said and done, I am happy to have been a part of a project that has the unique distinction of getting a 100% jump in ratings, i.e. the wedding track saw our numbers double from 0.6 to 1.2. We were mostly number 2 or 3 on the channel.”
Looking ahead, Aishwarya, who has earlier done Vishkanya and Jane Kya Hoga Rama Re, is also open to web series, but she is not yet ready for overt nudity.
“I have my own reservations, and for the moment, I think I would not be able to go beyond TV bold, i.e. something like Komolika in Kasautii Zindagi Kay (Hina Khan’s look) is my template.”
Best of luck, Aishwarya!!
