Bhavika Sharma would love to play lead in a daily soap 1

Unlike most TV actors, Bhavika Sharma, of Star Bharat show, Jiji Maa, is no big fan of web series. “I am happier doing daily soaps.”

But doesn’t the grind (20-25 days block, 9 am-9 pm schedule) not turn you off? “No, I don’t think so, for this is our work and you should love what you do.”

Interestingly, when we asked her the reason for not doing web, she said, “Nothing specific; and if something interesting does come along, I would be game.”

We wonder if the bold content is a turns her off as well.

Talking about Jiji Maa, this Mumbai born and bred girl, who first started off with Parvarish 2, says, “I am really happy with the growth of the character and plot. The track, where I had to take care of my elder sister, Falguni (Tanvi Dogra), when she loses her mental balance, was fun. A complete change from being the one who needed to be guided, to becoming the one who takes charge.”

Bhavika, who has an elder sister in real life, says, “Sibling equations are full of complications, which rear their head from time to time; yet, the underlying love goes nowhere.”

“One of the main reasons for the success of the show is the great vibes shared by the entire caste. We all get along like a house on fire. I share great rapport with Tanvi. Over time, she has become like my elder sister.”

Looking ahead, Bhavika would now want to do lead roles. “But yes, my character can’t be run-of-the-mill; I need challenging stuff. I am happy with my career growth so far. I did not know much during Parvarish, as was green behind the ears. But yes, Jiji Maa has taught me a lot about the acting craft.”

In closing, when we ask Bhavika about her relationship status, she says, “I am strictly single; no boys in my life. Right now, I need to concentrate on work.”
