With a flurry of old TV classics (Ramayan and Mahabharat) making a comeback with a vengeance, Star Plus too joins the party re-running its 2008 super hit show Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai.
Lead actor Sara Khan says, “This good news takes me back years when I landed in Mumbai to try my acting luck. It was not easy at first, but then I have always been a go-getter, so buckled up and rest as they say is history.” Sara has gone to do other big hit shows such as Bigg Boss, Sasural Simar Ka, and Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, among several others.
Here, Sara, who has now also become an independent singer of fame, says, “I will be forever grateful to producer Rajanji (Rajan Shahi) for having given me this opportunity. Bidaai is also unique to me as it netted me a very close friend in the form of Angad Hasija.”
What made Bidaai such a huge hit? “A good story and a great team to boot. Honest hard work always pays off,” comes the prompt reply.
“I am sure that Bidaai will rake in huge numbers in it rerun as well for a new generation has since grown up, and many other folks did not have time back then.”
So how are you passing the time being locked in at home? “Well, like everyone else, I, too, am following social distancing norms I am in constant touch with family and friends courtesy video chats.“However, even in this uncertain time, I am devoting full time to riyaaz as music means the world to me. I will balance both acting and singing.” Before the now extended lockdown, she was also busy producing content for her new digital app.
In closing, Sara wishes that we all eschew religious and political differences and unitedly fight this global menace. “Our future generations will hold us accountable for any omissions and commissions in this regard.”
