Television queen Surbhi Chandna, who rose to fame as Anika in Star Plus’ Ishqbaaaz, was one of the panellists at the recently held IWMBuzz TV-Video Summit and Awards, in association with BARC India for a session ‘New Age Role Models’.
During the summit, the actress spoke about her journey and learning process in the TV industry, the real story of fame and success.
She said, “I come from a family who believes in giving importance to education. Hence, I completed my education and did a job. I feel education plays a vital part on how you conduct yourself. I did not want to be an actor but there was a fascination with the glamour world. And my parents were very encouraging but they first wanted me to complete my studies.”
Surbhi has not gone to any special institute for acting classes. She added, “My learning includes experiencing, analysing auditions, theatre workshops. I prefer being natural on-screen and live my character.”
Talking about the adulation received by fans while doing Ishqbaaaz, she averred, “I have received immense love from audience when I was doing Ishqbaaaz. We had people coming on set and celebrating all small and big success and achievements. They came to click pictures with us but we cannot be snobbish with them because that is their love for us.”
