Yukti Kapoor is one lucky TV actress. She is getting a chance to play diverse characters. After essaying goddess Laxmi in Star Plus show Namah, she is now getting to show her dabang side as a cop in SAB TV show, Madam Sir (Jay Mehta Productions).

“The show opens with our thana on the verge of closure in lieu of any FIR being filed. SHO Hasina Malik ( Gulki Joshi title character) steps up to the plate ably supported by Inspector Karishma Singh (me), lady constable Santosh Sharma (Bhavika Sharma) and head constable Pushpa Singh (Sonali Naik), who is also my character’s on-screen mother in law. Karishma believes that criminals only get the language of force. Her brazen style of functioning does lead to odd with madam sir. Her equation with her saas at home is fun adding the family touch, “says Yukti to IWMBuzz.

So how does she get the cop mannerism? “We underwent workshops so as to get the body language of the women in khaki right. I must especially thank our director sir for helping me get the hang of the character; she can’t be too loud or too subtle.” ”

Her take on Madam Sir being compared to popular SAB TV show FIR? ” Here Yutkii says, “It would be wrong to compare Madam Sir with superhit FIR, “for cults like Sholay can’t be remade and secondly, here we have four leads who deal with everyday women issue in an entertaining way. The screenplay is written in such a way that comic turns to serious and back to a lighter vein. And there is an important message at the end of every sub-story.”

“Last but not least, we will also help to endear cops to the public by making them appear very human and friendly.”

We wish her all the best
