Chandrakanta is a big opportunity for me, but I cannot forget Begusarai: Vishal Aditya Singh

Vishal Aditya Singh chats with Indianwikimedia.

Handsome hunk Vishal Aditya Singh best known for his portrayal of Lakhan Thakur in &TV’s Begusarai will be seen enthralling audiences in a different avatar in Balaji Telefilms’ recently launched Chandrakanta on Colors.

The thespian feels blessed and is over the moon after bagging the Colors show.

He says, “This show is the biggest opportunity in my career. I couldn’t have asked for more. I always felt an inclination towards costume drama and fantasy genre, so this is like an icing on the cake. It is a 360 degree change for me and I wanted this change in my career. After Begusarai I waited a lot as I wanted to take up a good show. I love huge sets. Adventurous things like horse riding, fight sequences and the entire aura of these scenes, seem like a dream come true.”

He continues, “Although Chandrakanta is the biggest show in my life, I cannot forget Begusarai because whatever I am today is because of Begusarai. The show gave me both name and fame.”

The actor tells that the initial days of his preparation for the role were nerve-wracking as he had to build a physique like a warrior.

“I have been in gym rigorously for 2 months. It is very difficult to build a heavy body. I wanted my look to be like a Roman warrior hence it took a lot of efforts to get the look. It was a painful task and I also injured myself. Many a times I had shoot with harness tied to my body. But I feel these are challenges for me and I want to overcome them. If I would get scared about these things I wouldn’t be able to do the show,” shares the young actor.

Vishal had an interesting story to tell about his selection for the role. Talking about the same, he avers, “I went for audition 2-3 times. The twist is that I was finalized to play Shivdutt, but my destiny had something else in store for me. The production team took one more audition and they felt I am apt for the lead role of Prince Virendra.”

Ask him if he feels pressurized to prepare himself to be pitted against Life OK’s Chandrakanta, he quips, “I am not pressurized regarding the comparison with Life OK’s Chandrakanta because it is already on-screen and viewers have given their reviews to it. I am pressurized to give my best and deliver something wonderful to the audience.”

Good luck Vishal for your new venture!
