Child artist Chahat Tewani, who debuted on the small screen with Udaan, is the lead face of Colors’ recently launched show Kesari Nandan.

The little angel believes that through her character she would inspire many girls.

“I am playing the lead role of Kesar in the series. It is also a huge responsibility on my shoulder. I feel through my character I am proving that a girl can achieve anything if she works hard towards it. Kesar is a brave girl and she inspires me to dream big. The concept of the series really attracted me to the show,” shares the young actress.

The show is the adaptation of superhit film Dangal, and revolves around Kesar, a young girl who silently dreams of becoming a wrestler just like her father Hanumant Singh (Manav Gohil). Talking about her preparation for the role, she says, “I had undertaken basic wrestling techniques. My trainer Rakesh sir has really helped me in these stunts. I have specially learnt cartwheel and other techniques.”

Chahat loves playing sports. In real life, she is fond of swimming and tennis, and now she can proudly add wrestling to the list.

When asked who her inspiration for the role is,  and she adds, “Great women Geeta Phogat and Mary Kom, who were present at the launch of the show are my inspiration for this role. They inspire the entire world with their hard work and talent.”

Commenting on the balance between school and work life, Chahat says, “I get my books on set. During my break time, I manage to study and do my class work. I am being also referred as Kesari in my school after my show launch.”

Way to go girl.
