Comedy comes naturally to me: Vipul Roy

Vipul Roy who is back to entertain masses with his comic acts in SAB TV’s new show Partners talks about the show, his role and working environment.

Popular TV actor Vipul Roy, who is known for his stints in SABTV’s shows FIR, Sahib Biwi Aur Boss and Dr. Madhumati on Duty, believes that comedy genre is his USP.

The actor will now be seen in SAB TV’s upcoming show Partners.

He shares, “Comedy comes naturally to me. I love doing things that personally entertain me. I feel Indian television has very few shows which are male oriented. When Partners came to me, I was very elated. It is a show about three male cops and has a catchy storyline too. I couldn’t refuse it. It is like a dream come true to work with the amazing producer Paritosh Painter. He is an amazing writer too. He had a certain faith in me. I will live up to his expectations.”

Vipul continues, “Comedy is really a difficult genre especially in a daily soap. When you have to perform in front of the people who are legends in this genre, it is a tough job. Asrani ji, Johny bhai, Kiku have set a benchmark; so there are lot of expectations from me. I am giving my best and hope audience will like it.”

Ask him about the genre he would like to explore, and he avers, “I have tried comedy and that is my USP. I have also done action and romance in this show. However, I would love to do intense roles sometime in my career.”

Talking about his experience working along with the team, he quips, “It is an amazing working experience working with Kiku, Asrani ji and Johny sir. Our set is like a mad house. They are mind-blowing, and carry no attitude at all. We work as a team and I feel that will be the USP of the show and spread its magic.”

On an ending note, he says, “I have seen Govinda since childhood; so he is an inspiration for me.”

Good luck Vipul!
