It was a conscious decision to change my voice as the character demanded it: Vaishnavi Mcdonald

Vaishnavi McDonald plays the very authoritative Rajmata in &TV’s Mitegi Lakshmanrekha, the recently launched show coming from the stables of Shashi Sumeet Productions.

The character is full of aura, a woman who calls the shots always!!

Says Vaishnavi, “I am simply enjoying being in this character. It comes in as a welcome change. Years back, I had done a similar role for the show Chhoti Maa, which was very authoritative. The best part about this role is that I need not shed tears (smiles).”

Since the character is quite strong and firm, Vaishnavi took the conscious decision of going for a voice modulation. “My voice is frivolous; in fact, my voice can betray my age. You will think I am much younger if you talk to me on phone (laughs). This character needs a stronger voice; so I go base with my voice. It was my decision to make this modulation in voice. I have been appreciated for taking this move.”

Vaishnavi admires popular film actress Rekha from childhood. “I try to dress up like her. Though being a widow, my character cannot go totally colorful, my look does look grand.”

Mitegi Lakshmanrekha has not opened up to decent ratings. Talking about this, Vaishnavi says, “The story has not yet opened up. We have not even reached the crux of the concept yet. We are quickly moving towards it, and this should sure raise a lot of curiosity.”

We wish you luck, Vaishnavi!!
