Talented actor Gurucharan Singh aka Roshan Singh Sodhi from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (SAB TV and Neela Telefilms), says his passion for acting has never let him feel low in his career.
He shares, “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been a blessing in my career. It has given me fame and recognition which makes me stand out from others. It’s been ten years since I have played the role of Sodhi, however, I still have the same feeling about it. My passion for acting keeps me going and motivates me. Having said that, I would love to explore as an actor and would try my hands on movies.”
Gurucharan feels Taarak is for all generations. “The show connects well with audiences because it has clean comedy. It is watched by the entire family and it is for all generations. People and fans come up to me and tell me that their stress vanishes after watching our show. They get the solution to their problems through our series hence I feel Taarak is a social doctor. I feel glad that we are contributing in making other’s life happy through our passion which is acting. The credit for different stories and social message through our episodes goes to our producer Asit Bhai (Modi).”
Talking about team bonding, he adds, “It has been a decade, so the bond has become stronger with each passing year. The on-set environment is very positive and happy. I feel every set has few issues, which happen with us also, but at the end of the day we sort it out and are together to entertain our fans and loving audience.”
When we ask about Dayaben’s aka Disha Vakani comeback to the series, he avers, “We are not aware about the same. However, it will be amazing to see her back on-screen. She is missed by all of us. I hope she returns soon so that we can do garba again.”
Gurucharan recently launched a mobile application named GCS Star App to help newcomers in showbiz. Commenting on the same, he shares, “The app is for budding new talents. It is a platform where someone can showcase his talent, be it dance skills, singing talent or acting potential. We will also try to provide them work. I hope and I wish that this app will open a new arena for new talent in the industry and they don’t have to struggle for their debut show.”
