Read on.
Pocket Mein Aasmaan – what is the USP of the show?
The plot itself, that of a young girl who will set an example to defy all odds and achieve her dreams despite the challenge of being pregnant (which will come later in the show).
This character so far is the most fiery one plus the paradox is that he’s a doctor.
A lot of experimental concepts have failed in TV. Does it bother you as a performer?
Concepts failing do not matter to me as an actor as that’s something which is beyond my control, it’s in fact a pleasure working on such concepts as it gives you a chance to work on something unconventional.
Tell us about the attributes you like in Digvijay Gandhi?
I like how ambitious and focused he is, fights for what he believes in, his anger could be a drawback but also his strength in times of crisis.
Have you come across a girl as ambitious as Rani in real life?
I am blessed to be in a family where I am surrounded by many women, some of who are my relatives, sisters and even friends who are educated and very ambitious. Many women I know even take care of their family’s needs, emotional and financial. It’s beautiful being a woman as they can do it all. Be the caregiver and also fight for their dreams.
What does the role of Rani depict to the masses?
She is a young girl who from the first episode is shown as extremely ambitious about studying medicine and although her family is a little orthodox she doesn’t shy away from asking her father to do what she wants.
How different is this role for you when compared to your projects till now?
This character so far is the most fiery one plus the paradox is that he’s a doctor. Usually, we see cool-headed and sweet doctors whereas this one is quite hot-headed and dressed, unlike a doctor.
Will the show adapt to a quirky comical approach to tell this inspiring story? Take us through it.
I have no idea how the story will progress, but I really like the concept and we all have high hopes for the show.
Will the audience see the love story of Rani and Digvijay before the main plot of pregnancy is reached?
It will be a part of the story but not entirely I believe, since I think Digvijay is also going to pose as a roadblock for Rani to achieve her dreams.
What do you think about the trend of making regional shows in Hindi?
As long as the concept is good does it really matter where it was inspired from? We all derive inspiration and adaptations from somewhere.
How is it to work with Abhika?
She’s a young and confident girl who is a thorough professional.
What do you think about the late-night slot got for the show?
I think it’s a good slot and looking at how promising the show is I think we all have high hopes.
