Tejasswi Prakash Wayangankar is quite happy with the journey of her new Sony show Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya.
“It has been good so far. We have been consistent with our performance and hope the ratings increase in the coming weeks,” says the talented actress in a chat with IndianWikiMedia.
Talking about her character she says, “Diya is completely different from what she was in Pehredaar Piya Ki.”
The latter show was shut down due to audience anger with the older woman (Tejasswi) young boy (Afaan Khan) love track. The above new show again produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions began with an older Ratan (Rohit Suchanti) returning home from London and Diya keeping her promise to his father of protecting him.
“Diya has become much more confident, fearless and yes, emotionless due to what has happened in her life so far. She had been married at 18 to a 10 year boy due to a promise in season 1.”
When we broach the subject of how her 30 something character will fall In love with a 21 year old Ratan, she gets defensive and says, “ I don’t know how things will pan out, right now we don’t have such plans as well,” says this actor who had first gained fame with hit shows like Swaragini and Sanskaar.
On the point of her personal take on such equations, Tejasswi says, “How does it really matter? Age does not come in the way of love and marriage. Have we not had several such successful marriages where the wife is elder than the husband?
Tejasswi is enjoying the action stunts in Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya. “It is fun to enact all these stunts and especially the setting being Rajasthan. We learn something new each day.”
She also plays safe and refuses to comment on the lessons learnt from season 1 debacle, “We just need to keep working hard and fighting back.”
Point out that the ratings so far are not so great and she says,“ You need to factor in over all Sony numbers and in that scenario, we are not bad.”
We wish her all the luck and success.
