Preeti Puri Choudhary has been in the industry for 15 long years now and has warmed up her fan base with interesting and challenging roles in TV shows Shobha Somnath Ki, Naaginn, Mamta, Mahabharat, Housewife Hai… Sab Jaanti Hai etc.
Preeti who has been enjoying motherhood for a while now has decided to get back to face the camera, now that her sunny boy is three and half years old, and has started regular schooling. Preeti is married to Vipin Choudhary.
Preeti has just entered the Star Bharat show, Muskaan produced by Rashmi Sharma Productions.
Says Preeti, “I got back to the limelight with Bajirao Mastani last year. But now, I get back after nearly one and half years. My son is quite a big baby now. However, I can’t give more than 15 days to work. This role in Musakaan will be a continuity role. I play the role of Rushad Rana’s onscreen wife, and the close friend of Gayathri (Moon Banerjee). This is the first time I am playing mother to a grown-up girl. But it is nice to be back to work. I enjoy motherhood too, but it is good to be a working mother.”
On the manner in which she juggles between work and her duties of being a mother, Preeti tells us, “I have a maid back home and my mother is also there at home whenever I am shooting. My son is very chilled out. He waits for me to get back and even comes to the set at times to pick me up (smiles).”
On her character in Musakaan, she states, “She is a loud character. She is very much angry that Gayathri had promised to get her daughter married to Raunak, and now the boy is already married. She’s arrogant too in the way she talks.”
Preeti started her career with the movie Aitraaz. She now wants to be part of movies and TV shows too. “There are a lot of good serials coming. I want to be part of movies too. And the web platform is also welcome. After being in the industry for 15 years, the medium does not matter anymore. I just aim for a good role. “
Preeti confides that she was offered the role of Radha’s mother in Radha Krishn. “The shoot for Radha Krishna is in Aamgaon. I cannot do it now. My son needs me. I have done Somnath and Mahabharat shooting at such long-distance places. But I cannot do it now. Having said this, the industry is really good and takes care of the convenience of mothers also now.”
Best of luck for your new stint, Preeti!!
