Aashka Goradia, who has been part of several reality shows (Bigg Boss 6, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 4 and Mr. & Ms. TV) takes her elimination from Star Plus’ Nach Baliye 8 (to be telecast on Saturday) in her stride.
“Unlike other reality show participant I will not scream foul play or crib that I lost out due to more popular contestants. As, having been there done that, I know the format is part of the business. Those contestants who get the maximum eyeballs survive as that is the demand of the advertisers. I would advice those contestants who feel hurt when thinking that the country does not love them need to just get the fact that one does not know what the exact viewership pattern of any show is and not all viewers are voters and lastly, only one show can’t decide who is good or bad? Even the most watched show on TV will have only 12 -15% of the total viewer universe,” says Aashka.
She further adds, “Also I understand that I have my own market and fandom, so why should I be insecure? Taking all this into consideration, I believe everything is fair in love and reality shows.”
This BBC Worldwide Productions boasts of other small screen biggies such as Divyanka Tripathi – Vivek Dahiya, Sanaya Irani – Mohit Sehgal, and Bharti Sing – Harsh Limbachiyaa.
Here Aashka tells “At first my partner Brent Gobe did feel bad but it is not his fault for from where he comes from everything is back or white. He is not aware of our Indian ethos that everything is business. So I had to explain to him what it is. After a having been around for 15 years I have realized that it is not worth being emotional, the earliest Nach winners have been my friends. ”
In closing she hoped that Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim win for they dance the most. “It is finally a dance show so apart from chemistry and other things; I hope that dance is given more consideration. Even Abigail Jain and Sanam Johar dance well.”
Well said, Aashka.
