Young Sai Ketan Rao, who is known for his power-packed performances in the Tollywood Industry, recently made his debut on Hindi TV with Star Plus’ show Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali produced by Sandiip Sikand.
Talking about his new show, Sai says, “I am excited for my debut on TV and it is indeed a great opportunity as Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali is quite a different show. My character Raghav Rao is very precise. The character made me choose this show as it gave me the chance to express various emotions. Differentiated content, a mix of two different cultures and much more will enthrall the viewers. I hope viewers enjoy watching it and shower us with their love and support.”
What were the challenges while getting into the skin of the character, he adds, “I would not call them as challenges. Raghav is someone who comes from a Telugu family with Hindi not being a familiar language to him. However, I can fluently speak in Telugu, Marathi and Hindi so that was not a challenge for me. However, the character required me to gain 3-4kgs of weight to give that muscular look as the role includes a lot of action sequences to be performed as well.”
When asked about his bond with your co-star Shivangi Khedkar, he shares, “Shivangi is a fantastic and hardworking actress. Whenever we get the time, we discuss about our roles in the show and improvise, which I think is necessary for a successful project.”
Have you taken any particular inspiration for your character? “Yes, I did seek inspiration from the famous Bollywood film Agneepath which featured Amitabh Bachchan as it resonates with my character.”
On a final note, he adds, “Fans, do what you love to do and it will take your up and lead you to success.”
