Mohit Malhotra, last seen in the &TV show Chupke Chupke wants to return to the small screen as soon as possible.
Says the handsome actor, “However, I am looking for some juicy, male-dominated characters for my comeback. I would also like to experiment with my funny bone.”
Asked about Chupke, he says, “It was fun while it lasted.” So what went wrong? “Well, according to me, the early evening time slot was the biggest dampener. Our show opened to #1 or #2 in the UK, at the prime time slot.”
Mohit, who has been around for many years, having done popular shows such as Sasural Genda Phool, Kya Huaa Tera Vaada, Beintehaa, etc., says, “I am in a good space, have had both highs and lows. Experience has taught me what to look for, and what not to.”
“One of the best things about our industry is that you get a chance to do a lot of different stuff, if given the option. But, its flipside is that, seeing others, sometimes you get carried away and end up doing avoidable projects as well,” he explains.
Looking ahead, would he be game for acting in a web series? “I am an artist who is open to doing good work, irrespective of the medium– be it TV, films or digital.”
Here, he adds that he would like to learn from the mistakes of others, and not leave TV for the lure of films. “I would like to look for projects where I can do both.”
May you come back with a bang, Mohit!!
